LinkAbilities has a strong focus on youth through transition programs and other projects that prepare students with disabilities for the move from school to employment. Some of these programs include Project SEARCH, an employment training program set in the healthcare field, and the Youth Inclusion Project (YIP), which helps students to be more involved with the systems that influence their daily lives. The purpose of YIP is to encourage students to learn more about the systems that impact them and advocate for change in a positive manner. This project has been implemented in several school programs in the Nashua Region. LinkAbilities also works with local schools and other nonprofits through facilitation of the Nashua Community of Practice on Transition (CoP). The CoP brings special educators, teachers, and other interested parties from around the region together to discuss issues surrounding youth with disabilities as they graduate from high school.
